What is HeyGen CLI?

Official CLI for the HeyGen video generation API. Create AI avatar videos, translate videos into 40+ languages, manage avatars and voices, and download results. 30+ commands auto-generated from the OpenAPI spec.

Why it belongs here

HeyGen CLI was explicitly designed for AI agent use (qualifies for the robot badge):

• JSON on stdout by default (no --json flag needed)
• Non-interactive by default — set HEYGEN_API_KEY and nothing reads a TTY
• Self-describing schemas — --request-schema and --response-schema on every command, no auth required
• Structured error envelope on stderr with stable code values for programmatic branching
• Meaningful exit codes (0/1/2/3/4)
• Automatic retries on 429 and 5xx
• --wait flag blocks with exponential backoff for async video jobs
